Leicestershire Police Officer Charged with Attempted Rape and Sexual Assaults
A serving Leicestershire police constable has been charged with serious offenses, including attempted rape, following an investigation into incidents reported to have occurred earlier this year.
Kristopher Ford, 35, of Leicestershire, is facing multiple charges related to alleged incidents that took place between March 1, 2024, and April 30, 2024. The charges involve one adult female victim who was known to the accused.
The full list of charges against PC Ford includes:
Attempted rape
Six counts of sexual assault
One count of causing a person to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity
One count of sending a photograph or film of genitals for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification and being reckless as to whether that person would consent.
Ford has been suspended from the police force as the legal process proceeds. He is scheduled to appear at Northamptonshire Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 8.
The police force has stated that due to the ongoing legal proceedings, no further comment can be made at this time to avoid prejudicing the case. The public is reminded that the individual has been charged and is due to appear in court, and care should be taken with any commentary to ensure it does not compromise the upcoming proceedings.
