Rutland Drug-Driver Loses Licence and Job After 110mph Police Chase Near Grantham
A Rutland motorist who led police on a dangerous 110mph high-speed chase while under the influence of cocaine and cannabis has been stripped of his driving licence and lost his job.
Ashley Hunt, 33, of Wing, Rutland, attempted to evade officers during the pursuit near Grantham. Subsequent testing confirmed that he had drugs in his system at the time of the high-speed incident.
Appearing at Boston Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, August 12, He faced the immediate fallout of his actions, which included the loss of both his driving privileges and his employment.
Magistrates handed down a 28-month driving ban alongside a 12-month community order. As part of the community order, Hunt must complete 100 hours of unpaid work and undertake 10 rehabilitation days. In addition to the driving disqualification and community service, he was ordered to pay financial penalties totaling £199, comprising an £114 victim surcharge and £85 in court costs.
The severe consequences including the immediate loss of his livelihood serve as a stark reminder of the legal and personal fallout tied to drug-driving and dangerous evasion on local roads.
