End of an Era Rocka-Buy Records Prepares for Grand Finale in Oakham Ahead of Stamford Move

Music lovers in Rutland are preparing to say a fond farewell to an iconic fixture of Oakham. Independent store Rocka-Buy Records at The Maltings on Mill Street, has officially announced that it will be closing its current shop and relocating across county lines to Stamford in Lincolnshire.

To celebrate its time in Rutland and thank the loyal community of vinyl collectors and music enthusiasts who have supported the shop over the years, the team is staging one final celebration. UK rock band The Howlers will perform an exclusive live in-store set on Tuesday, 13th October, kicking off at 1:00 PM with completely free entry for all visitors.

The special afternoon performance marks the final live gig hosted inside the Oakham venue before the store packs up its crates and prepares for its next chapter in Stamford. Attendees will also have the opportunity to pick up physical copies of The Howlers' brand-new album, Heavy, which is available in-store now following its recent release.

Since opening its doors in Oakham, the family-run record shop has earned a reputation as a welcoming hub for physical music formats, stocking thousands of curated vinyl pressings, CDs, and memorabilia. While its departure from Mill Street marks the end of an era for local retail in Rutland, the team is encouraging residents to give the Oakham store the legendary send-off it deserves before the final move.

For further information regarding store hours, remaining stock, or details about the upcoming relocation to Stamford, Rocka-Buy Records can be reached directly at 07932 776159 or by visiting their shop at The Maltings, Mill Street, Oakham, LE15 6EA.
