Braunston Gears Up for its Beloved May Fayre 2025

The village of Braunston, Rutland, is set to burst into vibrant life on Monday, May 5th, 2025, as it hosts its annual May Fayre. From 10 am to 4 pm, residents and visitors alike can expect a day filled with traditional festivities, community spirit, and family fun.   

This long-standing tradition transforms the usually tranquil village into a bustling hub of activity. Here's a glimpse of what awaits:   

A Thriving Market:

Explore a lively street market offering a diverse array of stalls, from local crafts to delicious treats.   

A dedicated craft market within the church will showcase the talents of local artisans.

Family Fun and Entertainment:

Children will be delighted by fairground rides and engaging games.

The ever-popular Braunston Duck Racing promises excitement for all ages.   

A family dog show will add a touch of canine charm to the festivities.

There will be live music and performances on the street stage, showcasing local talent.   

The crowning of the May Queen, a highlight of the day, will take place at 3pm, followed by traditional Maypole dancing.   


Food and Refreshments:

Indulge in a variety of culinary delights, including burgers, a hog roast, and other tasty options.

The Blue Ball pub will be open, offering beverages and speciality food.   

The village hall will serve home-baked cakes, sandwiches, and refreshments.  

 

Community Spirit:

The Braunston May Fayre is a community-driven event, with proceeds supporting local causes, including the upkeep of the village hall and the church.   

Volunteers are a huge part of this event, and the community pulls together to make this day a success.


Important Information:

Parking will be available at the edge of the village, with designated areas to manage traffic flow.   

It is advised to follow the parking direction signs, to ease traffic congestion.
