As the school summer break approaches, many families begin the process of preparing for the term ahead. To help ease the financial burden while promoting sustainability, the Rutland Clothing Bank, part of the Oakham Baptist Church, is hosting a "Uniform Swap" event.
The initiative aims to "save money, reduce landfill and combat climate change" by encouraging the reuse of school uniforms. By participating in the swap, families can help extend the life of clothing items, keeping them out of the bin and making them available to other children in the community.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 8th August. Attendees can visit the Oakham Baptist Church between 10 am and 11 am to participate.
The community is encouraged to contribute to this effort by donating pre-loved uniforms.
Donations can be dropped off at Oakham TESCO.
This event represents a wonderful opportunity for the Oakham community to come together to support one another and the environment.
