Rutland and Stamford Pride: A Day of Unity, Joy, and Celebration The Days full schedule Sunday 10th August Oakham Market Place.

On Sunday, August 10th, Oakham will burst with colour and community spirit as it hosts Rutland and Stamford Pride.

This all-day event promises to be a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and a powerful statement of inclusivity for everyone.

With a packed program of entertainment, a bustling marketplace, and a clear message of acceptance, Pride is set to be a memorable occasion for all.

The festivities will kick off at 10:00 am with the highly anticipated Pride Protest March, which will leave Cutts Close and make its way to Oakham Market Place.

This march is a powerful symbol of visibility and a chance for the community and its allies to come together and march with pride.

The Market Place will be the heart of the day's events, transformed into a lively hub of activity from 10:15 am until 11:00 pm. The main stage will feature a diverse lineup of entertainment, showcasing local talent and further afield, including singers, drag artists, and DJs.

Attendees can also look forward to dance performances and a fun game show, ensuring there's never a dull moment.

Beyond the main stage, the Market Place will offer a variety of attractions for everyone.

There will be a selection of market stalls to browse, a dedicated food area with delicious options including vegan choices, and a bar for refreshments.

Families are also catered for with a children's funfair, promising a day of fun for all ages.

The organisers of Rutland and Stamford Pride have emphasised that the event is a "SAFE SPACE" for everyone.

The message is clear: bullying, harassment, hate, or violence will not be tolerated.

Event security will be present to ensure that the Market Place remains a welcoming and respectful environment for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, or age.

The organisers warmly invite everyone—LGBTQI+, straight, and allies—to attend and show their support.

In the run-up to the main event, the town's retailers have been getting into the Pride spirit by decorating their windows for a "Best Window" competition. This initiative not only adds to the festive atmosphere but also demonstrates the town's widespread support for the LGBTQ+ community. The winner of this competition will be announced on the day of Pride, adding another exciting element to the celebration.

Rutland and Stamford Pride is a testament to the power of community and a celebration of diversity.

It's an opportunity for people to come together, have fun, and stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 10th, and join the march towards a more inclusive and accepting world.
