Oakham Prepares for Summer Finale with Family Fun Day Following Out of the Blue's Cutts Close Success

Last Sunday, the park at Cutts Close in Oakham came alive as the popular local band Out of the Blue took to the bandstand, delivering a stellar performance that drew a large crowd and was thoroughly enjoyed by music lovers of all ages. Building on the vibrant community spirit of last weekend, the summer season in Oakham is now reaching its grand finale with one final event to close out the warmer months.

The Final Summer Celebration This Sunday, 30th August 2026, Cutts Close Park will host the Oakham Town Council Family Fun Day from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This free community event promises an afternoon packed with live entertainment, family activities, and local refreshments to mark the end of the summer schedule in style.

Event Lineup and Attractions

Live Music Schedule: Enjoy continuous performances at the park bandstand, featuring CJ Hatt from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Sammy Dean from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and Vesper closing out the afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Family Activities: Children and families can take advantage of free bouncy castles and inflatable slides throughout the day.

Food, Drink, and Local Traders: A variety of local stalls will be on-site, featuring special refreshments and support from community favourites including the Grainstore, Ovation, and the local Girl Guides.

Gather your friends and family and head down to Cutts Close Park this Sunday to celebrate the close of summer together. This event is proudly part-funded by The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
