Heroes & Heroines Take Over Uffington for Scarecrow Festival Starting Tomorrow!
Get ready for a spectacular May Bank Holiday weekend as the much-loved Uffington Scarecrow Festival returns! Kicking off tomorrow, Sunday, May 4th, and continuing through Monday, May 5th, 2025, the charming village of Uffington, near Stamford, will be transformed by dozens of imaginative, handmade scarecrows.
This year's exciting theme is 'Heroes & Heroines'. Visitors can expect creative and quirky interpretations lining the streets – perhaps King Arthur, Wonder Woman, or even local heroes like David Attenborough might make an appearance! A scarecrow quiz trail will guide attendees through the village displays.
Running from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day, the festival promises much more than just scarecrows. It's a fantastic family day out packed with activities and entertainment, including:
A Dog Show (Sunday only) - always a crowd-pleaser!
Lively performances from the Rutland Morris Dancers (Monday only).
Rides on a mini Fire Engine for younger visitors.
A Craft Barn, Face Painting, and Bouncy Castles.
Displays of Farm Machinery, Classic Cars, and a Model Railway.
Tombolas, Book & Plant Stalls, Traditional Games, and more.
Of course, delicious food and drink will be available, including a BBQ, tempting cake stalls, and refreshing ice cream.
Entry to the festival area, including parking and a quiz sheet, is £5 per car. For those arriving on foot or cyclists, quiz sheets are available for £2.50. Follow signs to the dedicated Scarecrow Parking (PE9 4SY) in Uffington village.
Don't miss this fantastic weekend of community spirit, creativity, and fun for all ages. Head to Uffington tomorrow or Bank Holiday Monday for a truly heroic day out!
