The porta loos on Church Street in Oakham have been temporarily closed due to their unsanitary condition. Reports indicate that the toilets are unfit for use, with toilet pans full of dried feces and discarded bottles, cans, and loo rolls littering the floor.

Oakham Town Council is currently facing staffing challenges due to stress-related sick leave, further complicating the issue. However, Cllr Sally-Anne Wadsworth, a member of the Oakham Town Council, is actively addressing the problem.

Cllr Wadsworth has been a member of the Oakham Town Council since 2016 and was Mayor of Oakham in May 2023. She is in contact with the loo supplier to expedite the provision of clean, working toilets. It is hoped that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible.
