Benefits Assistant Position Available at Rutland County Council
Rutland County Council is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join their Customer Experience Team as a Benefits Assistant. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Oakham, Rutland, offering a competitive salary and a range of benefits.
The Benefits Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Benefits team, which is responsible for a variety of functions including:
Billing and collection of Council Tax & Business Rates
Administration of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction
Processing Blue Badges applications
Financial assessments for adult social care fees
Deputyship client management
Customer service
Key Responsibilities
Scanning and indexing incoming post and electronic mail
Monitoring and responding to email inquiries
Updating databases
Answering customer inquiries through various communication channels
Developing a working knowledge of relevant rules and procedures
Essential Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong IT skills and proficiency in using various software applications
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Experience working in a busy customer-focused environment
Willingness to learn and develop new skills
