Oakham Gears Up for a Leaner, Greener Christmas

The festive season is fast approaching, and Oakham Town Council is inviting the community to join in the annual Christmas lights switch-on event. Scheduled for 3 PM on Sunday 24th November at the Market Place, the event will culminate in a 5 PM switch-on, Ted's Fair rides will be in the Market Place.

Due to significant increases in costs, Oakham Town Council has opted for a new contract with a lower cost to local taxpayers. This decision has resulted in a leaner Christmas light display, also prioritising energy efficiency and sustainability.

The council encourages residents and visitors to attend the switch-on event and embrace the festive spirit. The event promises to be a delightful occasion for all ages, with the added excitement of Ted's Fair rides.

Let's come together and celebrate the Christmas season in Oakham, embracing the spirit of community and sustainability.
