Leicestershire Special Constable Faces Gross Misconduct Hearing
Leicestershire Police has announced that a special police constable, Kayleigh-Mae Knight, is set to appear before an accelerated gross misconduct hearing on Monday, 2nd December 2024, at 1pm.
The allegations against SPC Knight stem from incidents between January 2023 and September 2023. It is claimed that she breached several standards of professional behaviour, including:
Confidentiality: Allegedly accessing and capturing sensitive police information.
Discreditable Conduct: Potentially compromising the integrity of the police force.
Orders and Instructions: Failing to adhere to police guidelines and regulations.
Authority, Respect, and Courtesy: Potentially undermining public trust in the police.
Specifically, SPC Knight is accused of taking four photographs of confidential police information using her personal phone. Furthermore, she is alleged to have shared one of these images with two individuals outside of the police force on September 9, 2023.
If these allegations are proven, they would constitute serious breaches of Leicestershire Police policies and procedures.
