Lions Club of Rutland Seeking New Members to Join Giving Team
The Lions Club of Rutland is calling on all community-minded individuals in the area to join their team of dedicated volunteers. With a long history of supporting local causes, the club is looking to expand its ranks and continue its positive impact across Rutland.
Currently boasting 24 members, the Lions Club is a familiar sight at events throughout the county. From stewarding the annual County Show to organizing the spectacular Lions Club Fireworks display, their commitment to bringing joy and supporting local initiatives is unwavering. Perhaps their most heartwarming tradition is assisting Santa Claus on his annual sleigh tour through the streets of Oakham, spreading Christmas cheer to young and old alike.
Since its inception in 1975, the Lions Club of Rutland has provided invaluable support to a vast array of local causes. Individuals, charities, schools, and community groups have all benefited from the club's generosity, which comes in the form of both physical assistance and financial contributions. In the past year alone, the Lions Club has demonstrably made a difference by handling over 26 cases and donating a staggering £13,042 to worthy local causes.
The Lions Club isn't just about giving back; it's also about fostering a sense of community. In addition to their volunteer work, they hold regular social gatherings, providing a platform for members to connect and support each other.
If you have some spare time each month and are passionate about making a positive impact in your community, then the Lions Club of Rutland may be the perfect fit for you. Join a team of like-minded individuals who share your desire to serve and make a real difference.
