Cllr Adam Lowe to step down as Mayor of Oakham

Oakham Mayor Cllr Adam Lowe has announced that he will be stepping down from his role as Mayor of Oakham and Chairman of Oakham Town Council at an extraordinary meeting of the council next Wednesday 23rd October 2024 at 5.45pm. The meeting will be held in the council chamber in Long Row Oakham.

Cllr Lowe has been a Town Councillor for many years.

Cllr Lowe has said that he is stepping down as Mayor and Chairman so that he can concentrate on his role as town clerk for Uppingham Town Council. He is also planning to resign at some point afterwards as a Town Councillor.

The council will be appointing a new Chairman and Mayor at the extraordinary meeting on 23rd October.

Cllr Sally-Anne Wadsworth told Oakham and Rutland News, "Cllr Lowe's departure will be a loss to Oakham Town Council. He has been a strong leader and has been committed to serving the community. We wish him all the best in his new role."
