Rutland North Police Update: October 2026

Rutland North Police Update: October 2026

The latest Leicestershire Police e-newsletter for Rutland North details local policing priorities, community safety updates, and upcoming engagement events led by PC Bland and PCSO Lyall.

Community Priorities & Action Taken

Using feedback from community consultations, surveys, and crime trend analyses, the Dedicated Neighbourhood Team concentrated their efforts on three core priorities throughout October:

Priority 1: Burglary

Police Action: The Rutland North Team actively tackled burglary-related offences via proactive patrols, intelligence-led activities, and community engagement. Officers spoke directly with residents to offer practical crime prevention and home security advice.

Priority 2: Road Safety

Police Action: Responding to concerns raised by residents, officers carried out targeted road safety operations, vehicle stops, and document checks. Several vehicles were stopped and seized for offences including driving without insurance, unpaid vehicle tax, and suspected involvement in criminal activity, with investigations ongoing.

Priority 3: Rural Crime

Police Action: PC Bland and PCSO Lyall conducted high-visibility patrols across vulnerable rural areas, farms, and isolated properties to deter theft and poaching. Officers engaged heavily with landowners, farmers, and rural residents to provide reassurance, gather intelligence, and share crime prevention guidance.

Crime Statistics for the Period

Recent data for Rutland North highlights the following figures:

0 Burglary-related offences
2 Reports of rural crime
1 Report of road safety

Crime Prevention Advice: Securing Your Home

With darker evenings settling in, the police remind residents to protect their properties by taking a few straightforward precautions:

Ensuring all doors and windows are locked, even when at home.
Using light timer switches to create the appearance that a property is occupied.
Keeping valuables, car keys, and house keys completely out of sight.
Securing side gates, sheds, and garages.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious neighborhood activity.

Upcoming Community Engagement
Beat Surgery: Meet the local team to discuss concerns or ask questions at the Essendine Village Hall on 25th November 2026 starting at 14:30.
