Exciting Changes for Rutland: Could We Merge with Parts of Leicestershire?
There’s been a lot of chatter lately about some big changes coming our way, and it looks like a possible merger between Rutland and parts of Leicestershire is becoming more likely. With a public meeting on the horizon to discuss what people think about this idea, there's plenty to consider!
To help us understand the future of our county, Cllr Gale Waller, the Leader of Rutland County Council has been speaking to Rob Persani at Rutland and Stamford Sound, She has some important thoughts on what this could all mean for us, especially as the government is encouraging the creation of larger authorities to make local governance more effective.
Make sure to tune in on Monday morning at 9:10 AM for Gale's full interview! It’s a great opportunity to hear her perspective and get a feel for what merging might look like for Rutland residents. What will happen to our community spirit and local identity? How could this change the way services are delivered? These are all important questions we should consider as we move forward.
Rob Persani says "It's a good interview, there's no question Gale really avoids or doesn't answer.
