Oakham Town Council Takes Steps to Improve Royce Recreation Ground and Christmas Shopping Experience
At a recent meeting, (13th November 2024) Oakham Town Council made several decisions aimed at improving local amenities and boosting the festive spirit.
Royce Recreation Ground Improvements
To enhance the cleanliness and appeal of Royce Recreation Ground, the Council voted to remove three outdated dog waste bins. In their place, two larger litter bins will be installed to better accommodate waste disposal needs.
Free Christmas Parking
To encourage local shopping and support businesses during the holiday season, the Council has approved free parking on December 14th and 21st. This initiative aims to attract more shoppers to Oakham's town center and boost the local economy.
Festive Shop Window Decorations
In collaboration with Rutland County Council, Oakham Town Council will work to decorate empty shop windows for Christmas. This initiative will add a festive touch to the town center and create a more welcoming atmosphere for shoppers. The Council will seek permission from property owners before proceeding with any decorations.
