Oakham's Late Night Christmas Shopping Event a Massive Success
Oakham's annual Late Night Christmas Shopping event was a resounding success last night, attracting hundreds of both residents and visitors to the town centre.
The event was bustling with activity, with a wide variety of stalls offering unique gifts, festive treats, and handmade crafts. Local businesses stayed open late, providing shoppers with ample opportunities to find the perfect presents.
Food lovers were well-catered for with a selection of delicious food stalls, including popular burger vans and other culinary delights.
A number of charity stalls were also present, raising vital funds for worthy causes. One such stall, located outside Morrisons Daily, was manned by Pippy and Nick Woodley, Margaret Heath, and local Town Councillor Martin Brookes. This dedicated team raised an impressive £222 for the Rutland Food Bank, Morrisons' chosen charity Marie Curie, and The Dogs Trust.
Inside Oakham Castle and Victoria Hall, visitors could browse a variety of craft stalls, adding to the festive atmosphere.
A Fond Farewell
The Late Night Christmas Shopping event has become a tradition in Oakham, and its success this year is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved.
