Providing a Home with History, St John & St Anne Housing Charity
Finding quality, affordable housing that offers both independence and security can be a challenge. In Oakham and Uppingham, however, one organisation has been meeting this need for over six centuries. St John & St Anne Housing Charity (SJSA), the oldest housing charity in Rutland, continues its mission to provide safe and comfortable homes for older people in the community.
Founded in 1399, SJSA has evolved into a modern housing provider that supports up to 120 residents across three community sites.
The charity currently offers 63 flats and 7 bungalows located at South Street, Brooke Road, and St Annes Close in Oakham. These homes are specifically designed to balance privacy with a sense of community.
What residents can expect:
Safety & Security: Every home is equipped with secure door access, intercom boxes, and an emergency 24-hour call system.
Shared Spaces: Access to beautiful communal gardens and an activity room for socialising and community events.
Independence: Self-contained living that allows residents to maintain their own lifestyle while having a support network nearby.
