Melton Christmas Tree Festival: A Festive Showcase of Local Creativity, from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and Rutland

Melton Christmas Tree Festival: A Festive Showcase of Local Creativity

The annual Melton Christmas Tree Festival returned this year, illuminating St Mary's Church with a stunning display of over 245 creatively decorated trees. This year's festival showcased the ingenuity and festive spirit of local groups, businesses, and organisations from across Melton, Rutland, and Leicestershire.

The café was popular offering hot drinks, mince pies or a slice of cake

From the 6th to the 10th of December, visitors were captivated by the diverse range of trees, each telling a unique story. Entries included contributions from local schools, clubs, charities, and businesses such as Rutland's Pepper's A Safe Place, and Leicestershire and Rutland Fire and Rescue Service.

A highlight of the festival was the winning tree, an edible masterpiece created by Sugar Shamrocks. The sisters, Naomi and Dionne Yeandle, transformed cake into a stunning Christmas tree, which had to be transported in three pieces due to its size and delicacy. The winning tree now graces the storefront of Sugar Shamrocks on Sherrard Street.

The second place tree, was also Pippy Woodley's favorourite.

Fleur's Floristry claimed the second-place position with their elegant wedding dress tree, a testament to their creative flair and attention to detail.

The festival was a resounding success, drawing over 1,700 votes for the best tree. With only four votes separating the top two entries, the competition was fierce.

The Melton Christmas Tree Festival continues to be a popular tradition, bringing joy and festive cheer to the community.
