Adam Lowe Cycles for Blood Donor Awareness
Adam Lowe, the Uppingham Town Clerk, has set himself a new challenge: to cycle throughout June, July, and August, visiting World War 2 pillboxes across Rutland. For every pillbox he visits, he'll donate £25 to Leicestershire and Rutland Blood Bikes. This initiative aims to highlight the critical need for more blood donors.
Lowe began his challenge on June 27th, completing a 22-mile ride in two hours and 30 minutes. On this initial outing, he visited three pillboxes: one in Cutts Close, Oakham; one in Burley Crescent; and another on Station Road in Whissendine.
He plans to provide regular updates on his public Facebook page throughout July and August, detailing his cycling routes, the total amount donated, and the sites he's visited.
