Oakham Town Councillor Hannah Williams Resigns

Oakham Town Councillor Hannah Williams has announced her resignation, effective immediately. Cllr Williams submitted her letter of resignation to the Chairman, Cllr Paul Ainsley, on May 13th, 2025.

 In her letter, Cllr Williams stated, "It is with sadness that I submit my resignation from my role as Councillor, with immediate effect. Serving our local community in this voluntary capacity has truly been an honour, and I remain deeply proud to have contributed." 

 She cited "personal reasons" for her departure, explaining that she is "no longer able to give this post the time and attention it rightly deserves and requires."  It has been shared that Cllr Williams is expecting a baby, and the community extends their best wishes to her for the future.

Cllr Williams expressed her best wishes to her colleagues, stating, "I wish my fellow Councillors all the very best in their continued work and have every confidence in the many forthcoming achievements we will see for Oakham." 

Reacting to the news, Chairman Cllr Paul Ainsley said, "She’ll be greatly missed—especially her passion for all things green."

The resignation marks the end of Cllr Williams' dedicated service to the Oakham community.
