Race Against Time: MP Urges Rutland Residents to Return Save Rutland Petitions Ahead of Parliament Presentation

With the clock ticking, Alicia Kearns, the Member of Parliament for Rutland and Stamford, is making a final push for residents to return their Save Rutland petitions. The deadline for submitting the crucial documents to her office is Tuesday, April 1st, ensuring they can be presented to parliament as part of the ongoing campaign to protect Rutland's unique identity.

The #SaveRutland campaign has been a strong local movement since discussions surrounding local government reorganisation began. Concerned residents have rallied together to ensure the voice of Rutland is heard and its distinct character is preserved amidst potential changes.

MP Alicia Kearns is now calling on everyone who has been collecting signatures or holds a copy of the petition to act swiftly. She is urging individuals and groups to deliver all paper copies to her office located at 6 Market Street, Oakham, by the absolute latest on Tuesday.

Highlighting the importance of this final push, Kearns stated, "It is vital that we gather as many signatures as possible to demonstrate the strength of feeling in our community about protecting Rutland." She also encouraged locals to "continue to share the word and continue to protect the future of our wonderful county," emphasising that anyone, regardless of age or location within the country, is eligible to sign the petition.
