A  road closure is still in effect on the A606 between Oakham and Melton after a building fire.

The incident, involving a disused and unoccupied house was reported to Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Sunday evening. The fire service has deployed multiple crews to the scene.

National Grid and Severn Trent Water were informed of the incident as a precautionary measure.

The A606 remains closed between Langham and Whissendine, this morning and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area.
