Rutland Morris Dancers are gearing up for a monumental celebration on Saturday, October 12, 2024. To mark their 50th anniversary, the group will be hosting a Day of Dance that will take them across the county.
Founded in August 1974, Rutland Morris has been a vibrant part of the local community for five decades. To commemorate this milestone, the group will be embarking on three separate coach tours, featuring nearly 140 dancers.
The day will begin at Oakham Castle at 9:45 AM, where the three coaches will depart on their respective journeys. Throughout the day, Rutland Morris and their guests will be performing at various locations, including Edith Weston, Ryhall, Manton, Braunston, Whissendine, Exton, North Luffenham, Hambleton, Preston, Barrowden, Uppingham, and concluding back in Oakham.
This special occasion offers the public a fantastic opportunity to witness the traditional art of Morris dancing and celebrate the rich history of Rutland Morris.
