Stamford Set to Sparkle: Christmas Lights Switch-On and Late Night Shopping
Get ready to embrace the festive spirit! Stamford's much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On and Late Night Shopping event is scheduled for Thursday, 27 November 2025, promising an evening filled with dazzling entertainment, community cheer, and a chance to kick off your holiday shopping.
The heart of the celebration will be Red Lion Square (PE9 2AJ), with festivities running from 17:00 (5:00 PM) to 18:30 (6:30 PM).
Rutland & Stamford Sound will be your guide through a jam-packed programme designed to delight all ages:
Official Start: The evening will officially commence with the traditional announcement from Town Crier, Andrew Downing.
Mayoral Welcome: Attendees will hear a special speech from the Mayor, Councillor Amanda Wheeler.
Poetic Warmth: Stamford's Poet Laureate, Ross Ayres, will share a festive poem to set a magical tone.
The Big Moment: The climax of the evening will be the switch-on, performed by a special guest who is sure to bring an extra sparkle to the town.
