Rutland Choral Society to Deliver Grand Summer Concert This Saturday
Music lovers in Oakham and beyond are in for a treat this Saturday, July 12th, 2025, as the esteemed Rutland Choral Society presents its highly anticipated Summer Concert. The performance, a "celebration of British choral music," will take place at the beautiful All Saints Church in Oakham, LE15 6AA, beginning at 7:30 PM.
Under the skilled direction of Musical Director Jamie Conway, and with the accompaniment of Ivan Linford, the Rutland Choral Society promises an evening of enchanting harmonies and stirring melodies. The program is set to showcase a diverse range of British choral pieces, culminating in a grand finale featuring beloved "Proms favourites." This patriotic flourish is especially poignant as the concert will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Audiences can expect to hear works by notable British composers such as Ernest Bullock, John Ireland, Herbert Sumsion, and Charles Villiers Stanford, including his "Songs of the Sea."
All Saints Church, a magnificent Grade I listed building known for its excellent acoustics and central location in Oakham, provides the perfect setting for such a performance. Its rich history and architectural beauty will undoubtedly enhance the musical experience.
Tickets for this wonderful evening are priced at £15, with a generous offer of free admission for under-16s. Tickets can be purchased in advance through wegottickets.com/rutlandchoralsociety, directly from members of the Rutland Choral Society, or at the door on the evening of the concert.
