Build a Home for Nature: Family Nest Box Building with Anglian Water

Looking for a fun and educational activity for the whole family this half term? Join Anglian Water at the Bird Watching Centre in Egleton, Oakham on February 18th for a fantastic nest box building workshop!

This hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity for families to work together and create their very own nest box to take home.  Imagine providing a safe and cosy home for your local birds!

All the necessary materials are provided, pre-cut and ready for assembly in the classroom.  With guidance from Anglian Water experts, you'll learn about the different types of nest boxes and how to build them correctly.  It's a great way to connect with nature and learn about the importance of providing habitats for birds.

The sessions last approximately 3 hours and cost £20 per hour for up to 4 people.  This makes it an affordable and engaging activity for families and small groups.  The workshop is suitable for children aged 6 and above, and all under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This is a wonderful opportunity to:

Learn about bird conservation: Discover the importance of providing nesting sites for birds and how you can help local wildlife.

Build a lasting memory: Create a nest box together as a family and enjoy the satisfaction of providing a home for nature.

Get creative: Enjoy the hands-on experience of assembling your own nest box.

Spend quality time together: Connect with your family while learning and creating something meaningful.
