The historic Old Barclays Bank building in Oakham, Rutland, is undergoing a transformation.

The historic Old Barclays Bank building in Oakham, Rutland, is undergoing a transformation that will see it converted into two separate retail units. One of the most striking features of this renovation is the installation of new stone window frames to the left side of the building.

These new frames, crafted from high-quality stone, perfectly complement the building's existing architecture and blend seamlessly with the surrounding historic environment. Their elegant design and meticulous craftsmanship enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the building, while also providing a modern and functional solution for the new shop unit.

The decision to use stone for the window frames was a thoughtful one, as it not only adds a touch of timeless elegance but also contributes to the building's durability and longevity. Stone is a natural material that is resistant to weather, pests, and other elements, ensuring that the new shop unit will remain beautiful and functional for many years to come.

As the renovation project progresses, it is clear that the Old Barclays Bank building is being treated with the utmost care and respect. The installation of the new stone window frames is just one example of the attention to detail and commitment to preserving Oakham's rich heritage that is evident in this project.

Lands' End Outlet and The Kitchen Café: A Rutland Gem

Lands End Way, Oakham, Rutland. LE15 6US

Oakham, the county town of Rutland, is home to a hidden treasure: the European headquarters of Lands' End. Not only does this mean access to quality clothing at discounted prices, but it also boasts a delightful café serving up delicious food at reasonable rates.

My recent visit to the Lands' End outlet and café was a delightful experience. The cafe's self-service system was straightforward, allowing me to browse the food and drink options at my leisure. The selection was impressive, offering a variety of breakfast, lunch, and snack items. I opted for a hearty breakfast and a cup of coffee, which came to a very reasonable £6.60.

The food was fresh and tasty, and I particularly enjoyed the Denby Pottery crockery that added a touch of elegance to the meal. The friendly staff made me feel welcome and ensured that my visit was enjoyable.

Overall, the Lands' End outlet and café is a fantastic addition to Oakham's local amenities. Whether you're looking for a bargain on clothing or a delicious meal, this hidden gem is well worth a visit.
