Oakham's Magical Lantern Walk: A Night of Enchantment

Oakham is set to be illuminated with a magical glow on Saturday, November 9th, as the town hosts its annual Lantern Walk. The event, promises to be a delightful experience for people of all ages.

Starting at 4:30 PM, participants will gather at All Saints Church, their lanterns glowing brightly. From there, they will embark on a festive procession through the historic streets of Oakham, winding their way to the iconic Oakham Castle.

Many of the lanterns used in the procession were crafted at a workshop held at Oakham Castle the previous Saturday. This community-driven approach adds a special touch to the event, making it a truly collaborative effort.

Once at the castle, participants will have the opportunity to display their lanterns along a designated rope, creating a breathtaking sight. To warm up after the walk, the Castle Cottage Café will be serving hot drinks, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
