Oakham Shop Owner Distraught After Theft

A local business owner is left feeling violated after a recent theft incident at Etta Lingerie and Nightwear on Mill Street. On Saturday, around 11:30-11:45 AM, an unidentified woman stole a £70 bracelet and £30 worth of women's underwear.

Hetty, the store owner, expressed her disappointment, stating, "This is truly upsetting. In the 10 months we've been open in this lovely town, we've never experienced theft. It's disheartening."

To raise awareness and prevent future incidents, Hetty has shared an image of the suspect on Facebook. She urges other local businesses to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

The Oakham community is urged to come together and support local businesses. If you recognise the woman in the photo or have any information regarding the theft, please contact the local authorities.

Rutland County Council has announced that Catmose House will reopen to the public for face-to-face services starting Tuesday, August 26. This follows a temporary closure earlier in the week due to an a incident.
