Rutland County Council Survey for Housing Association Residents
Rutland County Council is seeking feedback from residents living in Housing Association properties to improve services and address concerns about repairs and maintenance. The survey, launched by the Council's Housing Associations Evidence Panel, aims to gather first-hand accounts of residents' experiences with their landlords.
The Evidence Panel, formed in July 2024, was created in response to concerns raised by tenants regarding communication difficulties with Housing Associations and issues surrounding the quality and timeliness of repairs. Councillors have received reports of residents struggling to contact their landlords about necessary repairs to both individual properties and communal areas, with some repairs allegedly being delayed or completed to a substandard level.
This survey is a direct result of those concerns. The Council is committed to understanding the challenges faced by Housing Association tenants in Rutland and using this information to drive positive change. The goal is to provide Housing Associations with valuable feedback that will help them improve their repair and maintenance processes, as well as their communication with residents.
The survey focuses on gathering detailed information about residents' experiences, aiming to pinpoint specific areas where improvements are needed. By collecting a wide range of perspectives, the Council hopes to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current situation and identify actionable steps.
Rutland County Council is urging all residents living in Housing Association properties to participate in the survey. The online survey, which takes approximately 12 minutes to complete, is available from Tuesday, January 21st until 4:00 pm on Friday, February 28th, 2025.

The Council recognises that online access may not be available to all residents. Therefore, alternative formats of the survey are available upon request. Residents can obtain a copy by emailing democraticservices@rutland.gov.uk or calling 01572 720 993.
The Council emphasises the importance of resident participation in this initiative. Every response will contribute to the Evidence Panel's work and play a crucial role in improving the living conditions of Housing Association tenants in Rutland. The Council appreciates residents taking the time to share their experiences and encourages them to answer as many questions as possible to provide the most comprehensive feedback. The collected data will be used to create a report for the Housing Associations, outlining areas for improvement and promoting better communication and service delivery for tenants.
