Football

Leicester City's late penalty concession left them with a share of the spoils in their 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace. 

Peterborough United also had to settle for a point, drawing 1-1 at home to Lincoln City.

In the lower leagues, The Daniels dropped to second in the Southern League Premier Central after a 3-0 defeat at AFC Sudbury. 

Wittering Premiair suffered a 4-0 home loss to Deeping Rangers Reserves in the Peterborough and District Premier Division.

The Senior Cup saw Oakham United, Uppingham Town, and Deeping United all eliminated in the second round.

In the United Counties Premier Division North, Bourne Town and Deeping Rangers drew their respective matches. Blackstones were the only local side to emerge victorious, beating Retford FC 2-1 in Division 1.

Cottesmore lost 2-1 at Sileby Town in the Everards Brewery Premier Division.


Women's Football

Stamford AFC drew 2-2 with Rotherham United in the East Midlands Women's Regional Football League Premier Division. 

Oakham United and Ketton Sports suffered defeats in their respective leagues. 

Deeping Rangers secured a 2-1 win over St Ives in Division 2.


Cricket

In the Leicestershire & Rutland League, Oakham Town 1sts lost to Rothley Park 1sts, while Uppingham Town 1sts were defeated by Shepshed 1sts. Uppingham 2nds secured promotion, while Market Overton 1sts were relegated. Wakerley & Barrowden finished fifth in Division 7 East.

In the South Lincs & Border League, Burghley Park 1sts won the Championship. Ketton Sports 2nds also secured promotion.


Rugby


Stamford and Oakham suffered defeats in their respective rugby matches. Stoneygate were beaten in their Leicestershire Merit B opener.
